Repair Damaged Teeth

If you’ve got a large cavity or a damaged tooth, a dental crown may be the best way to restore your smile. With a lab-made dental crown, Dr. Ethan Park and our team at Camellia Dentistry can restore your tooth, eliminate your pain, and prevent further complications.

What Are Dental Crowns?

Basically, dental crowns are false teeth. They are built from durable, tooth-like porcelain materials, and they are designed to fit over a damaged or decayed tooth. They cover up the tooth, protecting it from further damage and restoring the shape, appearance, and function of your tooth.

Dental crowns are usually used to treat cavities that are too big for a filling, or to repair teeth after root canal therapy. They are a good option for repairing severely cracked, broken, or damaged teeth, too. They are also sometimes used for purely cosmetic purposes if a treatment like veneers or dental bonding is not appropriate for the situation.

THE CROWN PLACEMENT PROCESS

Tooth Trimming & Preparation
At your first appointment, Dr. Park will clean and numb your mouth. Then, he will trim away any damaged or decayed enamel, and shape your tooth into a stable platform for your crown. He will take impressions and images of your mouth, and send these to our partner dental lab.

Building Your Crown
Dr. Park will place a temporary crown on your tooth to protect it, then send you home. Next, he will work with a dental lab to build your custom crown. It usually takes about 2-3 weeks to complete your crown and have it sent to our office in Temple City.

Permanent Crown Placement
Once your crown has been sent to Camellia Dentistry, you’ll come back for your final appointment. Dr. Park will remove your temporary crown, then check the fit of your crown, and make any last-minute adjustments, if necessary. Then, he will permanently attach your crown to your tooth using powerful dental cement. After this, you’ll be sent home to enjoy your new smile.

Durable Lab-Made Dental Crowns

GET SUPERIOR RESULTS

We offer lab-made crowns at Camellia Dentistry. Crowns made in dental labs typically use a metal base and a porcelain “jacket,” which provides superior durability compared to all-ceramic crowns.

Dr. Park works closely with our lab partners to make sure that your crown looks natural, fits perfectly into your mouth, and lasts for the years and decades to come. To learn more about our lab-made crowns and their benefits, schedule a consultation at our office now.
